Created by Deep Silver Volition
Recruited from around the world, a group of unique and diverse Super Agents are set loose on the city of Seoul to save it from the destructive schemes of the evil supervillain organization LEGION (League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations).
Yes! I was once a video game developer at a high end studio, and I’m proud of the fact that I made it into the professional side of the games industry after years of effort.
I worked with Volition as a Technical Animator, in my case a sort of junction point between animation and programming. Because of my position on the team, cross-disciplinary communication was a constant necessity, and the ability to translate complex ideas to very different groups became a rather important factor in my daily work.
Character Animation Networks
Much of my time was spent developing layered animation networks that drive in-game character motion. When players push buttons to make their on-screen character perform actions like running or jumping, the animation network reads that data and uses a pretty deep logic tree to determine what animations should be playing. The new animations blend in smoothly and players can see their characters acting in the game. It’s pretty cool stuff.
